Uniform for Sitecore Features
As a developer, how many times have we been on projects/applications where pages couldn't load due to being resource-intensive while accessed by users in dispersed Geographic locations. Then, we had no other go but add server processing speed and keep adding resources as usage increased. Based on what I saw in the demo, Uniform for Sitecore seems a perfect fit for such scenarios since it supports the following:
- Choose your CDN to deploy (I at least heard a couple - CloudFlare and Netlify)
- Push to edge on Sitecore Publish
- Basically pages run from the edge
- Its so disconnected that you can switch off the Sitecore Server (just to prove the point but not forever!)
- As a result, reduce Sitecore infrastructure cost
- So, that means better performance
- Better Lighthouse scores
- It also supports Google Analytics Integration, I'm sure integration with Analytics products should also be possible
- Push data to Sitecore xdb from edge
- Better visitor engagement due to edge personalization since the user is actually interacting with the edge rather than the Sitecore CD instance
- Personalized content based on the visitor
- Support for various users: developers (diverse API/SDK), marketeers
Then, as part of composable dxp, the product offers:
- UI-based editor to compose different tech stack components (basically called No-Code tool since it comes OOTB)
- Support for different vendors ranging from monolithic to MACH/JAMStack architecture
- Basically, its easily extensible
- Drag-and-drop components to Smart Grid as it builds, side-by-side, ready to view JSON of the components added
- I personally saw integration with BigCommerce for Commerce data, with Contentful serving the content
- Support for OrderCloud is coming soon
- Faster time to market since it already has support for some of the DXP products
- It also allows you to test pages on different channels
